An article in Space Magazine dated October 2004

Penehupifo Pohamba has played her part in mothering the children of Namibia. As a midwife she has brought hundreds of Namibian children into the world, initially in the harsh conditions of the exile settlements. She, and thousands like her, left Namibia in the 70's because that was their only recourse to redress the inequalities and oppression of apartheid and the government of the time; their goal was a better future for all children in this country.
