Mukwamhalanga – is an Oshiwambo word meaning “Elephant”. It is a totem that expresses the belonging to a clan. An elephant is the symbol of wisdom, humility, nurturing Oshiwambo, people who are named Mukwamhalanga are known as healers.
Tukondjeni – Let’s do our best/let’s fight for what we want to achieve.

The Trust of the First Lady of the Republic of Namibia Madame Penehupifo Pohamba who is also the Chairperson was established in 2005

A Trust that brings HOPE to Namibia's rural poor - Namibia's rural poor are largely forgotten.

They are often hidden behind the image of urban middle-class success. But they are still there. Mostly hard working women and children struggling to survive each and every day, battling against hunger, neglect, the harsh environment, illiteracy and lack of support and opportunity.

But they are still there - in desperate need of our support.

The Mukwamahlanga Tukondjeni Community Trust (MTCT) is a community trust that finds and develops economic upliftment opportunities for Namibia's rural communities, these same needy women and children. Our focus is mainly in the area of agriculture, which taps into traditional skills, yet ensures economic viability, sustainability and dignity for our people. And this is often all they need to build successful, productive and happy lives as economically independent and contributing members of Namibian society.
