All these project proposals have two aims in common: to empower women and communities and to create job opportunities through socio-economic development.

Green Future for SRWP

Shalongo Regional Women Project
Is a community based project operating in Okashakati Village. The mission of this project is to provide the highest quality of crops and their theme is, to attract and maintain customers. Their quality products will exceed the expectations of their customers.


Mile 46 Dry Land Project
Ms. Lydia Frans
Situated in Tsasava- Kapako Constituency, this project belongs to the Mbunza Traditional Authority supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, Ministry of Health and Social Servises, CDC and the VDC members.
This project was established in the early eighties by Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in the former Kavango Admnistration and it is previously known as the Tsasava dry land project. The reason this project was established was simply to accommodate farmers who had interest an interest to cultivate an allocated a peace of land. This program has been going on for years even after independence, until 1996-1997 during ploughing season.
The purpose and the objectives of this project is to turn into a full agricultural project that will be managed by the community themselves for empowerment, job-creation, food-security, reduction of poverty and development in the rural area, self employment opportunity through activities like clearing the site-de-bushing, fencing and ploughing, harvesting and threshing, milling and marketing with the intention of assisting the vulnerable children, orphans and the people infected and affected with HIV/AIDS in the community.


Tutekula Children’s Organisation
Mrs. Maria Kombwana
Based inOhangwena Region in Onhuno.
This is a welfare organization registered with the Ministry of Health and Social Services October 2007. Their major activities are Day care program merged with the Life skills, HIV/AIDS, Counseling and training, after school program and feeding scheme merged with the computer literacy and the establishment of the library program. The activities will heavily rely on an effective initial training and on going support from partners in providing supervision and on-job training services.

Ongha Pendukeni Project
Chairperson: Ms. Mirjam Kautwima
Is a project established in January 2000. This project is about planting edible plant or trees and also sawing caring various vegetable.
Their aim is to fight poverty and reduce unemployment and also assist the HIV/AIDS infected and affected people in the Namibian community by providing fresh food.

Kehemu E.B.C Dorcas Choir Group
Ms. Johanna P. Manuel
With the aim to introduce Jatropha plant by group members, this project would like to provide the opportunity for the group of women to participate in the developmental affairs which ensures self income generation through contribution to poverty alleviation, generation of income from self-employment, improving the living conditions of their families and those of orphans, empowering women in participatory economic development, forster acceptable collaborative working relationship with other stakeholders in the same business, thereby improving the quality of living for its members.
The project will focus primarily on the cultivation of the Jatropha plant.

Oshiwedha Jatropha Project Proposal

At Ohaihana Village in Enhana Constituancy, this project established Oshiweda Jatropha project.
The project still aims to establish a Jatropha Plantation. Their aims and objectives are to create employment inorder to reduce poverty, to enhance the social and economic development of our people, to diversify our agricultural production activities and to access the training and acquire new agricultural production and techniques through their planned activities: de-bushing of land, raising funds for the project, acquiring of fencing materials, excavation of earth dam, procurement of seedling and plants, acquiring of seeds, procurement building materials, ploughing and planting, construction of fence, construction of an office.

Peparu Community Project
Chair person: Mr. Festus Nauyoma
Situated in Nongera in Rundu.
Peparu means “ Penehupifo”. The objectives of the project is to create employment, to create a favourable and hygienic vegetablas for the rural people, to create small market for the community to sell their product at one place, to promote social economic standards in the rural communities through Jatripha, to empower the community especially women in self-employment capacity, to promote local vagetables to hospitals, school hostels etc. and to promote health food for both children and adults with the aim of preventing malnutrition related diseases.

Jatropha Production
Location: Emono Village, Okatana Constutency in Oshana Region
Chairperson: Ms. Hilma Elias
MTCT is currently collaborating with the Polytechnic on research regarding the Jatropha Curcuas and its viability in arid to semi arid regions and the possibility of intercropping with vegetables and other edible crops, without sacrificing land used for food as food security has to be primary.
